Yesterday as The X Factor auditions kicked off in Manchester, the focus as usual was on the judges, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw.
But rather than the media focusing on how they judged the new batch of X Factor talent, or how the new panel gelled together, they decided to body shame Cheryl.
Cheryl who is naturally thin wore a black cropped top, showing of her trim and toned stomach, instead of saying how happy the Geordie babe looked they decided to criticize the star saying she was too thin.
As a nation we are alarmingly to interested in peoples weight, particularly women, rather than women sticking by each other and showing solidarity, they regularly tear into each other.
Cheryl has already been criticized on Instagram by a troll calling her a bag of bones, and now the media have started writing articles about her weight, when will this body shaming end? Why is socially acceptable to body shame thin women?.
People need to learn respect, and stop jumping to conclusions about other peoples weight, just because someone is thin does not mean they do not eat, and just because someone is overweight does not mean they eat too much.
People have natural body shapes and different speed metabolisms.
Before people start writing things about other people they should remember that everyone is fighting their own battle, and no body has the right to body shame anyone, thin or otherwise.
Everyone has the right to be happy in their own skin, without people telling them they are inadequate or they do not have the perfect body.
No body is perfect, everyone is different, but if we all empower each other, every person can feel beautiful.
STOP BODY SHAMING.
