Who is Daryl Hall?
Daryl Hall was born on October 11, 1946, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. His parents both came from musical families, his mother as a voice coach and his father from a choral-group family. Hall began composing and recording his own music while still a student at Owen J. Roberts High School. After graduating from high school in 1964, he attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where he majored in music. During his first semester at the university, Hall and four other Temple students established the vocal group the Temptones. The Temptones eventually made a name for themselves, even winning a singing contest, and got the opportunity to record a few singles with Arctic Records.

Hall has also hosted the internet show/webcast “Live from Daryl’s House” since 2007. For numerous years, the show was shot from his house in Millerton, New York (and occasionally from his club, Daryl’s House, in Pawling, New York), and featured live music performers. Aside from his music career, Hall is also engaged in real estate. Throughout his life, Daryl has owned and sold a number of spectacular properties. The Millerton house, where he taped his show, is one of the most well-known. Daryl pieced together the land along Huckleberry Road, nominally in the town of Amenia, over numerous purchases.
The finished product was a 245-acre estate. Daryl found two 18th-century properties in Connecticut for the main residence. He purchased the houses and moved them to his property. He then painstakingly reconstructed both into a single enormous 24-room mansion. Daryl sought to sell this home for $16 million for the first time in 2009. By 2012, he has reduced the asking price to $8.75 million
The new owners expanded the property by 200 acres and placed it for sale for $17 million in 2018. As of this writing, they have not found a buyer.
