Spoiler alert for fans of The Bachelorette: Zac Clark won Tayshia Adams‘ heart. Before the season finale aired last week, his ex-wife spoke out about how she really felt seeing her ex-spouse on TV looking for love.
Zac admitted that he was the reason his first marriage ended and it had a lot to do with his substance abuse issues. Jennifer Stanley-George, who is remarried with a baby, confirmed that that was the reason their marriage ended.
She also spoke about how shocked she was to see that he was competing for love on the show.
‘It’s been a little shocking and a little hard to watch. I won’t lie. But, I’ve long since moved on with my life and I’m happily married now and I just had a baby so, I’ve been obviously distracted, but I have watched this season.’
Jennifer opened up about finding out about Zac’s drug addiction.
‘He lied to me about it for years. Our entire relationship he lied to me about his drug use. I mean, I don’t know. I was very naïve. He needed to go [get clean] for himself, not for me. And I think at that point, if we had stayed together, he would have been doing it for me.’
Although the 36-year-old has completely turned his life around and even started a non-profit to help people who struggle with addiction, the new mother has a warning for Tayshia.
‘He has dedicated his life to helping others, but it’s not a glamourous life and it’s difficult and it can be messy at times. I just hope she knows and really thinks about what that means.’

As far as if Zac was genuine or not when it comes to getting engaged or if he simply wanted fame — Stanley-George believes that he definitely was in it for love. She added that he’s not the kind of person that would look for followers.
