Former manager and producer Jeremy Harding‘s brother first alerted him to the existence of a singer who sounded remarkably like Super Cat, the renowned dancehall DJ and toaster, at a small open mic event in Kingston. Intrigued, Jeremy Harding eventually met the singer in person when Sean Paul came by his studio seeking advice. During the meeting, he recorded a vocal track over Jeremy Harding‘s rhythm, creating the song Baby Girl.
The two continued to collaborate, with Sean Paul becoming a regular at Jeremy Harding‘s studio. Eventually, they produced several songs that they believed were radio-worthy, including Infiltrate. As his talent began to be recognized in the music community, Jeremy Harding took on the role of managing his operations, even filling in as his DJ, road manager, and security guard to help launch his career. Later, Jeremy Harding candidly admitted to HitQuarters that he played many roles in the early stages of Sean Paul‘s career.
In 2009, Sean Paul released his Imperial Blaze album to critical acclaim. The following year, he collaborated with producer Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor on the hit single So Fine.
