Bottomless dining is all over London, whether it's brunch or tacos or booze. But one South London shop is bringing a new kind of bottomless to the capital: cake.

Jack and Beyond offers 90 minutes of bottomless cake for £22 per person. Famous competitive eater Bears Meets Food once sunk 21 slices of the stuff - if it's delicious enough for him, I was seriously looking forward to my visit.

The huge cafe's windows provide an insight into the baking itself, with an open kitchen in which bakers create their masterpieces. Inside the cafe, those masterpieces are proudly displayed for all to see, with wedding cakes and whimsical tiered delights fighting for attention with the laden display case.

For £4.25 apiece, the exquisite slices of cake stumbled into my carrier bag like there was no tomorrow. While I would struggle to eat 21 slices of any cake, I did leave Jack and Beyond with two slices and a brownie.

The lemon and elderflower cake exceeded my expectations. The moist sponge itself was fresh as a spring morning, with a flowery hint of elderflower accompanying the zesty flavour.

While I'm not the biggest fan of buttercream, the cake's zesty frosting brought together the slice like nobody's business. I put that whole slice away in a minute flat, and was left feeling refreshed rather than weighed down.

But the star of the show was this month's special, the tiramisu cake. With a sponge as fluffy as the lemon one encased in coffee' infused mascarpone cream, it was like eating a lighter, friendlier tiramisu.

To test Jack and Beyond's baking skills to the max, I also grabbed a slice of cookie brownie, or Brookie to her friends. It was fudgy, crumbly, incredibly chocolatey, and all-round delightful.

While I would struggle to knock back 21 slices of Jack and Beyond's cake, it was so delicious I would truly not mind giving it a go. Whether you're spending £4.25 per slice or £22 for an unlimited amount, you're getting an excellent deal either way, purely because you get to revel in their baked goods.

You can find Jack and Beyond at 146 Battersea High St, London SW11 3JR or order their cakes on Deliveroo.
